Proficiency testing activities is used as part of the assessment process to assess the ability of laboratories to perform competently calibration/tests/inspection for which accreditation is held¹. Other than satisfying the ISO/IEC 17025 requirement, it is also an important tool in evaluating the comparability of tests and calibration results among laboratories. NMIM proficiency testing activities include Proficiency Testing and Measurement Audit program.

Proficiency Testing (PT) is an interlaboratory comparisons in which the test item is distributed sequentially among two or more participating laboratories and each laboratory’s result are compared to assigned (reference) values established by NMIM.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Call for participation will be made via email and website. Overview on the process of participating in PT programme is described here.
Measurement Audit (MA) is a comparison whereby a well characterised test item is sent to a single laboratory and the results are compared to a reference value established by NMIM.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
